Destin is the Man!

Mood: Inspired
Ever since I finished reading Robert Rodriguez’s Rebel Without A Crew (Director of Desperado, The Faculty, Spy Kids)
I’ve felt inspired to go out and make my own movies again, like how I used to do during the vlogging days about 3 years ago. I don’t expect any of my films to be GREAT but I think just getting them out is enough for me. Finding the motivation is difficult though so I find that I constantly have to find outlets of inspiration to keep that flame lit.
I recently started Spring semester of school at State and I keep hearing about this guy named Destin Cretton. Apparently he went to grad school at SDSU for film and a short film of his, Short Term 12, got accepted into the Sundance Film Festival.
Awesome! It’s cool to see one of your own get that far. That same day I find out that he won at Sundance! Here’s a clip of his bio/acceptance speech. I was floored. I don’t even know this guy personally but his humble attitude and filmic talent is extremely profound and encouraging to me; simply, someone I aim to be like.

I recently was a behind-the-scenes videographer for a student film at SDSU, Settled At Sunrise. The movie marked the first time a film at State was shot on the $17,000 RED ONE camera. These are just some of the soundbytes I managed to snag as I was recording. The documentary version is coming soon!

Hey everybody! I know I’ve been on-and-off with this thing. You guys diggin’ the new site design?
School has taken a hold of my life the last few months but that also means I’ve been busy making film stuff. I wouldn’t say any of it is worthy of posting on here but I plan on posting some things in the near future.
In terms of gear, I recently got my hands on an HMC-150.

HMC150
The thing is a beauty! Shoots in hi-def and 60p for all those nice slow-mo shots. I also purchased/converted to a Macbook Pro.

15 Inch Macbook Pro
I’m lovin’ it! Now if only it cost as much as a PC…
My new years resolution…even though we’re already two weeks in: stay consistent with posting on here. I plan on living up to that this year.
Anyways, I’ll keep you guys updated in the filmic realm that is my life be it in blogs, vlogs, or movies – you’ll see it on here!
