I obviously haven’t updated this in quite awhile. Needless to say, my expectations of making weekly videos during the summer fell far from short. After finally landing a job following two months of unemployment I suddenly realized that school starts in a month…and now in a little over a week…great! So far I’m registered for 4 film production classes which is absolute overkill. I’m contemplating the idea of dropping one but I’m still undecided.

Well, I never did finish up that video with Phong in it. It’s still in the works and likely will be for awhile until I can get the shots I need.

In the meantime, here’s the first movie I made for my basic 16mm film class during last semester that I never posted:

School’s coming to an end which means final school projects. Here’s what my group made for our basic 16mm class:

I’m still working on a video Phong and I shot…2 months ago? Geez, should be done next week though. In other news, Cassanova, the guy I made that last video for is going to get to perform that song in Arizona because of the popularity of that video which is awesome! It’ll be part of a “Go Green” rally. Unfortunately, since it’ll be a nonprofit rally, they will be unable to cover his lodging and travel expenses. So if you can help him out: clicky.

I know it’s spring break and all but I’m piled sky high in coursework right now so it’s been pretty difficult to find some free time for editing videos. I will tell you that I’ve shot 2 videos in the last few weeks but I’m not sure when I’ll be able to get them out to you all. You’ll definitely see them on here when they’re done though.

The Goldeneye video is taking a lot longer than I thought. I edited for around 12 hours on Sunday and it’s only about half way done. I should have it done by Wednesday. Sorry for the delay…but trust me when I say that the wait will be worth it.

This week has been rough in terms of realizing the overwhelming amount of work I’ll have to do for school in the next few weeks. I suppose if I weren’t taking a week off from putting videos on here that that would have driven me insane by now. Simply, this time off is much needed.

Anyways, yeah, the news on the hard drive: it’s shot. It makes that “clicking noise of death” and shows no sign of working anytime soon, even after I performed the infamous freezer trick. Fortunately, I still have the Goldeneye video on my tape so I’ll just have to re-upload it and start all over again.

I purchased a replacement external hard drive this week called “Mybook.”

It’s 1 terabyte (4x the amount I had on my previous drive, I figured if I was going to buy a new drive that I might as well upgrade while I’m at it). It’s too bad my laptop sucks for editing but it’ll have to suffice until I upgrade to a Mac.

As for the “Goldeneye Project”, mark your calendars for Monday…that is, unless I drop this hard drive too…

Mood: Disappointed

In the midst of editing the dubbed “Goldeneye Project” my hard drive took a dive. Rather, I tripped on one of the cables and the drive fell to the ground. Initially, it stopped working but after a few restarts I got the thing kickin’ again.

However, while I was at home the drive got knocked down once again. Now it makes some strange clicking sound every time it’s on. My laptop won’t bring up the files on the drive either which isn’t so great considering that I have all my video files on there.

…so much for having that video done by Monday.

Looks like I’ll be taking a week or so off to get a new hard drive and attempt to recover those files.

 This is not a video…

Listening to: Pillar-When Tomorrow Comes
Mood: Retrospective

Earlier today it crossed my mind why I started making videos a few years back. Looking back on them now, they weren’t really all that creative nor were they interesting (well, in my opinion). I just needed that thrill that I couldn’t seem to get elsewhere. Youtube wasn’t around then so no one had ever even heard of posting videos online. It was an eventful time.

I recall that things got really interesting once popularity struck. All within the same week I was mentioned in The Independent as one of the top videobloggers in the world and one of my videos made an appearance on G4TV:

It was cool seeing my site up in the spotlight like that. Unfortunately, I stopped posting and thoughtlessly deleted my blog. Now it’s under someone else’s ownership. But I feel like it was a necessity in a way. I needed to recreate my “filmic” identity and start from scratch again. Low and behold: here I am, working my way up the ladder again.

Just wanted to let that all out.

In other news, we’re already hard at work on another vid. Those of you that thirst for the days of N64’s Goldeneye are going to love this next one. We’ll probably finish shooting it tomorrow which should give me enough time to finish editing it before Monday of next week (assuming I don’t fall into another 12 hour editing session again). Hopefully it all goes well and works out.

Listening to: New Found Glory-Never Give Up

Hey all, thanks for all the comments on the last few posts. It’s been greatly appreciated and definitely motivational for me.

Phong and I are already working on another video. We shot it today during our breaks at work. It’s pretty complex right now but once I get some other shots everything else should start clicking. I anticipate that you will all die laughing just the way I did when I was filming it. It’ll definitely be a fun one. I should have it done by the end of the weekend…once again, assuming I can get those other shots.

Anyways, I have one of my film classes in about 45 minutes so I better make my way over to the trolley so I can make it to class on time.

I obviously haven’t blogged in months. I use to blog back when I had a social life but now that that’s nonexistent it has become harder to think of things to write or make videos about. Life’s pretty dull right now. I felt that starting up this site again would give me new life…to be determined?

Anyways, I’m editing a video I shot at work earlier today. It should be done in a few hours.
